In the present paper, improvements to a normative technique for calculating the deformations of plastic-frozen soils are proposed by substituting nonlinearly (power-law) time-dependent deformation modulus Et for the usual deformation modulus E. The proposed method adequately accounts for the effect of long-term creep and nonlinearity in stresses. Power-law parameters are determined according to a special technique for testing for confined, triaxial or uniaxial compression.
