Oxidizing with oxygen: The catalyst of cobalt oxide hydrate (Co(OH)x) supported on metal oxides was prepared. And the oxidative cleavage of C(OH)−C bond in alcohol was catalyzed by Co(OH)x/metal oxides using molecular oxygen as the oxidant, and the corresponding product was obtained with high selectivity.
