Study of strange particles production in $$p-p$$ p - p and $$p-Pb$$ p - P b collisions at 7 TeV

We are presenting the transverse momentum \(p_{T}\) distributions of the strange hadrons: \(K_{s}^{0}\), \(\Lambda \) and \(\Xi ^{-}\) produced in proton–proton and proton–lead collisions at \(\sqrt{s_{NN}}=\;7\ TeV\) in the rapidity interval of \(\left| y\right| <2\) and for \(0<p_{T}<10\) GeV/c. Three event generators: \(EPOS-LHC\), \(EPOS-1.99\) and \(QGSJetII-04\), are used to perform the simulations. The models’ predictions for the \(p-p\) collisions are compared with the experimental data obtained by ALICE and CMS detectors. It is observed for the \(p-p\) collisions that the models’ predictions cannot describe the experimental data very well. However, for the case of \(p-Pb\) collisions the models’ predictions depend on the masses of strange particles.
