Thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of vacuum gas oil in a flow-type reactor were investigated. The main patterns in the yield of the targeted products of the process – ethylene, propylene and butylenes – are identified. The effect of the catalyst on change in the conditions of catalytic pyrolysis compared with thermal pyrolysis is described. A mathematical model of the process is proposed.
