The Dalazi Biota mainly collected from the Dalazi Formation in Yanji and Luozigou basins contains several key fossil taxa that document the evolution of major terrestrial plants and animals. However, the age of the Dalazi Biota in Luozigou Basin is still controversial. Here, we report a SHRIMP U–Pb zircon age of 104.6 ± 1.2 Ma for tuff sample and a SIMS U–Pb zircon age 103.3 ± 1.0 Ma for the tuffaceous siltstone sample (analytical uncertainty only), which together bracket the main Dalazi Biota-bearing beds in the Beigou section of Luozigou Basin. These new ages suggest that the age of the Dalazi Biota from Luozigou Basin may be younger than 104.6 ± 1.2 Ma. The new data provides precise geochronological framework for the evolution of the Dalazi Biota in Luozigou Basin.
