Abstract

In this work, combined with the rationally designed chalcone dicarboxylic acid ligand (H2L), a metal-organic framework [Cu3(HL)3]n (1) has been successfully synthesized and characterized. There are one keto and two carboxylic acid groups for potential coordination sites in this ligand. Structural analysis shows that compound 1 is a Cu-based 3 D network structure, and interestingly, there are weak interactions between Cu ions and –C = C– bond. Additionally, the photocatalytic properties for the degradation of two organic dyes of compound 1 have been investigated.
