Synthesis and crystal structure of a new three-dimensional Pb(II)/Ni(II) coordination polymer based on 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid

Abstract

A new Ni(II) and Pb(II) polymer [NiPb(dpdc)]n 1 (H2dpdc = 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P-1 with the final R = 0.0243 and wR = 0.0579 for 3590 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I). The compound presents a three-dimensional (3 D) network extended by dpdc2- anions employing a chelating coordination mode. From the topology point of view, the structure could be described as a (3,4)-connected 3 D network with (4.8.10)(82.10)2(4.8.103.12) topology net. Infrared spectroscopy, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analysis and the single-crystal X-ray diffraction properties of 1 are also investigated.
