The symplectic sum is employed to construct stable generalized complex 6-manifolds. We show that there exist a myriad of stable generalized complex 6-manifolds which have either 0 or negative Euler characteristic and contain a type change locus in which each path-connected component is diffeomorphic to $T^4$.
