Discrete networked dynamic systems with mode separation: state and output synchronization

This paper examines the impact of coupling in a class of linear discrete-time systems with mode separation over networks. We provide a complete analysis and design treatment allowing at extending the stabilization control design to the corresponding synchronization problem. We deploy a time-scale separation of the whole network dynamics to synthesize the controls that synchronize both the slow and fast states. We show that the design implementation is cast as feedback simultaneous stabilization framework and cast as feasibility problem over finite number of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). As demonstrated by simulation studies, the ensuing results provide designers with a network-centric technique guarantee stability and enhance the performance of considered coupled systems.
