The results of a study on improving the low-temperature CO shift conversion technology by reducing the water vapor consumption in the ammonia production are presented. It was found that excess water vapor relative to stoichiometry leads to an increase in energy consumption. The possibility of reducing the water vapor consumption is shown; at the same time the carburization of the industrial catalyst is not observed.
