Abstract

Utilizing nanotechnology in medical applications has represented a new horizon in facing various types of human malignancies such as cancers. Nano-medicine improves the efficiency of cancer therapy strategies and decreases their treatment side effects. There are several types of treatment strategies have been successfully used and developed in the treatment of various types of cancers such as anticancer nano-drug delivery systems. Nano-liposomal structures, nano-emulsions, and nanoparticles are considered as the three main types of nano-drug delivery systems. They exhibit certain individual efficiency depending on their contents and target microenvironment. In the current review, the anticancer potential of our nanoemulsion- and nanoparticle drug delivery systems have been studied in case of their sources and cancer cell-selective cytotoxicity.
