Lots of process systems are affected by mutual interaction between inputs and outputs. Therefore, in designing a single-input/single-output (SISO) control system, it is often the case where the desired control performance cannot be obtained under the influence of inputs/outputs included in other loops. On the other hand, multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) control systems can be constructed for such systems, but the control systems design is often complicated. In this letter, the database-driven PID control scheme is extended in which influence of inputs/outputs other than the main control loop is considered as change of operating conditions. © 2021 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
