TNF-α inhibits fibrosis and migration of fibroblasts in hypertrophic scar by miR-141-3p

Hypertrophic scar is a dermal fibroproliferative disease characterized by increased collagen bundles [1]. A variety of factors participate in its formation, including inflammation, genetics, growth factors, and cytokines [2‒3,4,5]. Among the cytokines, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α secreted by peripheral blood mononuclear cells is lower in the hypertrophic scar group compared with the normal group [6]. However, the effect of TNF-α on fibroblasts and the underlying mechanism of TNF-α in hypertrophic scar has not been revealed.
