We discuss our recent results studied within a cluster effective field theory. We review a calculation of the \(\beta \) delayed \(\alpha \) emission from \(^{16}\hbox {N}\) and report a new result for the elastic \(\alpha \)-\(^{12}\hbox {C}\) scattering for d-wave channel explicitly including the three states, the sub-threshold \(2_1^+\) state and two resonant \(2_2^+\) and \(2_3^+\) states of \(^{16}\hbox {O}\), in the calculation.
