Abstract

An icosahedral shell based on Bulienkov’s model of the water surface layer is considered as an approximant of the interphase region of nanobubbles in water. Geometrical characteristics of icosahedral shells with different diameters are presented, and the volumes of their internal cavities and the structural parameter for the interphase region of bound water of nanobubbles are estimated. An empiric formula for calculation of surface tension is proposed, which involves the structural interphase parameter and the water molecule and hydrogen bond parameters.
