Preparation of nanocrystalline gradient cemented carbide by adding gradient former of V(C, N)

Nanometer WC and Co powders were used as raw materials, gradient former of V(C, N) and traditional gradient former of Ti(C, N) were added respectively to prepare gradient cemented carbide by a two-step sintering process. The results showed that nanocrystalline gradient cemented carbide was prepared by adding gradient former of V(C, N), and ultrafine gradient cemented carbide was prepared by adding gradient former of Ti(C, N). Growth of WC grains were inhibited and the gradient layer was thickened by adding the gradient former of V(C, N). The mechanical properties of the alloy with V(C, N) were better than those of alloy with Ti(C, N).
