Abstract

The concentrations of heavy metals in the form of free elements or oxides, as well as arsenic in samples of atmospheric aerosol and soils, collected in northern Tajikistan in the period from 2011 to 2019, are determined. Local sources of heavy metals, mainly anthropogenic (motor vehicles, metallurgical industrial plants, open tailing dumps, etc.) in origin, are discussed. Possible sources of air transport of pollutants to the territory of the Sogd region are identified on the basis of the HYSPLIT back trajectory model.
