Red blood cell hemolysis induced by ultrasound and alkyl derivatives of amphotericin B and levorin modified by the amine and carboxyl groups has been studied. A kinetic method has been developed for studying the physico-chemical characteristics of blood cells during ultrasound physiotherapy. It was shown that the interaction of ultrasound with biological systems is based on the cavitation effect. The effects of alkyl derivatives of amphotericin B and levorin on the physicochemical characteristics of red blood cells were examined. It is assumed that the change in the mechanical stability of red blood cells in the presence of polyenes is associated with alteration in microviscosity of the protein–lipid system of RBC membranes through the formation of ion channels. A correlation was found between the effects of polyenes on lipid and cell membranes.
