Abstract

In the recent past Indian fastest 0.475 MTPA stamp charged coke oven battery had commissioned at the site of the Jindal Steel and Power Limited Angul, Orissa, India. The coke oven battery consists of 72 numbers of ovens with the charging capacity of 24.26 MT/oven. The project incorporates the many innovative techniques for smooth and fastest construction and commissioning of the battery in the shortest time and integrated into the previous coke oven battery no. 4. The new battery was built in the shortest time and integrated into the previous coke oven battery no. 4. With the commissioning of the mentioned coke oven battery, JSPL, Angul unit is self-sufficient in producing good coke quality required by the blast furnace. The battery is now in operation and delivers a superior quality of coke with the optimal cost.
