Abstract

The results of mathematical simulation of the distribution of the magnetic field lines on the cathode surface in an MAP plant are presented, and the main features of the cathode evaporation from the coating material in a high-current vacuum arc discharge using controlled motion of cathode spots in a magnetic field of a given configuration are analyzed. Possible ways for modifying the magnetic system of stabilizing the evaporation zone on a cathode for coating large aviation GTE parts are discussed.
