The history of the Hippocratic Oath and the Geneva Declaration was depicted and its relevance for education in Anatomy was mooted. Anatomy is taught very early in the medical curriculum and anatomists should behave in an exemplary manner with respect to the dead bodies as well as to medical students as future colleagues.
