Mind you: a story and not a history! I would like to give a personal account of the times (as I lived them), of the heroes (as I knew them), of the hopes raised and foundered and of the dominant ideology present on the everyday work (as I felt it). The subjects that I will discuss are: logics and their doctrines, completeness theorems, generic models and classifying toposes and early work on Synthetic Differential Geometry. Acknowledgements.
