Abstract The aim of this paper is to approach an aspect that has not been taken into account by critics, such as the influence of Petrarch and his work on literature that has usually been considered as non-canonical. Specifically, through various examples, we will examine printed popular literature and Sephardic literature, in order to carry out a representative sampling of both. By studying several literary productions, we will show how Petrarch’s influence should not be limited to high literature or canonical literature, but also to literature that has normally remained on the margins.
