Abstract This short communication describes the background, objectives, and publications of World Patent Information's special issue on Artificial Intelligence for Intellectual Property (AI for IP). The report serves as the editorial for the WPI's special issue on AI for IP. We look forward to receiving future contributions in research articles, literature/book reviews, conference reports and short communications in the subject areas.
