Infrared thermal wave detection, scanning and recording of temperature responses in the form of digital signals is considered a powerful supplement to traditional nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. It offers a range of advantages, such as a large testing area, a wide range of applications, a fast testing speed, the fact that there is no need to make contact with the tested objects, and the possibility of presenting test results in a pictorial form [1], [2]. In relation to the interests of this paper, it has been applied to detect ice in the field of aeronautics [3], in marine structures [4] and in wind turbine blades [5].
