Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry Measurements of 27 Compounds

This paper reports thermophysical property data on 27 industrially important chemicals including melting temperature, enthalpy of fusion, and liquid heat capacity as a function of temperature. These data were measured using modulated differential scanning calorimetry. The compounds studied are 2-decyl-1-tetradecanol (CAS 58670-89-6), cyclopentylacetic acid (CAS 1123-00-8), 3-chloro-1-propanol (CAS 627-30-5), 1,4-pentanediol (CAS 626-95-9), eugenol (CAS 97-53-0), erucic acid (CAS 112-86-7), 2-(5H)-furanone (CAS 497-23-4), didecyl phthalate (CAS 84-77-5), guaiacol (CAS 90-05-1), vanillin (CAS 121-33-5), o-toluic acid (CAS 118-90-1), octanal (CAS 124-13-0), trans-cinnamic acid (CAS 140-10-3), oleyl alcohol (CAS 143-28-2), 4-carboxybenzaldehyde (CAS 619-66-9), 2-carboxybenzaldehyde (CAS 119-67-5), 3-carboxybenzaldehyde (CAS 619-21-6), 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (CAS 123-08-0), 2,4-pentanediol (CAS 625-69-4), n-butyl acetate (CAS 123-86-4), n-hexyl acetate (CAS 142-92-7), n-heptyl acetate (CAS 112-06-1), n-nonyl acetate (CAS 143-13-5), ethyl levulinate (CAS 539-88-8), 2-nonanol (CAS 628-99-9), methyl 4-formylbenzoate (CAS 1571-08-0), and 4-(hydroxymethyl) benzoic acid (CAS 3006-96-0). The measured values are compared with favorable results to available data, common prediction methods, and data from similar chemicals.
