Designing the future photo/electrocatalyst for the selective conversion of CO2 into C3+ products became a fascinating research and industrial application area. In this review, we provide fundamental interpretation and recent advancements on electro/photocatalysts to improve the selectivity of CO2 reduction toward C3 products via tailoring their local morphology, surface modifications, and the heterogeneity of the catalytic system.
