Welcome to this issue of Qualitative Social Work. The last year has been extremely difficult and our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones. I am writing this just over a year after the UK went into the first lockdown. I keep remembering anniversaries such as the last time I saw my family, the last time I was on the campus at Lancaster University, and the last time I saw certain friends. Temporality seems to have merged: time is going so fast but also so slowly.
