We began our editorship six years ago with a journal issue focused on literacy for all, and we leave you with the theme of hope. Children provide us with that hope. We invite you to read our final issue as coeditors of The Reading Teacher. During our tenure, our world has been in the midst of crisis and change—from the global pandemic to racial injustices to political leadership changes. Despite the uncertainty and hardship, there is much hope and promise in the coming years. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve the International Literacy Association and our literacy profession. We know the journal is in excellent hands with the new editorial team from Michigan State University.

As you sit down to read this issue, listen with an open heart and mind to the amazing scholars and educators whose work is featured. Our children deserve not only hope but also outstanding educators who use research to guide and inform their instructional decisions. The International Literacy Association is full of such outstanding teachers, just like you.
