Biomolecules assemble to conduct: An ion conducting transparent hydrogel with thermo-reversibility, self-healing and injectable properties can be developed spontaneously through a supramolecular self-assembly of phytic acid with guanosine monophosphate at room temperature. The efficient ionic mobility in the self-assembled phytic acid crosslinked G-quadruplex nanofibres resulted in its applicability as a gel electrolyte for flexible electronic devices.
