ABSTRACT

This paper applies a sustainability approach to develop a comprehensive framework for measuring Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) using the Alkire–Foster method across geographical and subpopulation groups in Iran. The results reveal that culture, security, and environment, which are often omitted from poverty measures, are crucial components of poverty in Iran. Findings of the study show that the contribution of each dimension to overall poverty varies by location. Analysis of poverty across subpopulation groups reveals a clear pattern in the contribution of each dimension across different population groups. The results provide important evidence to support inclusive and targeted pro-poor policies in Iran.

本文采用可持续性方法开发了一个综合框架，用于使用 Alkire-Foster 方法在伊朗的地理和亚人群中测量多维贫困指数 (MPI)。结果表明，贫困衡量标准中经常忽略的文化、安全和环境是伊朗贫困的重要组成部分。研究结果表明，每个维度对总体贫困的贡献因地区而异。跨亚人群的贫困分析揭示了不同人群中每个维度的贡献的清晰模式。研究结果为支持伊朗的包容性和有针对性的扶贫政策提供了重要证据。
