Occurrence and molecular characterisation of citrus yellow vein clearing virus isolates in Adana province, Turkey

In Turkey, the citrus yellow vein clearing virus (CYVCV) was first identified and characterized (full genome) in Adana province. During surveys in 2018 and 2019, 267 leaf samples were collected from various citrus species across the province and analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chaine reaction. A CYVCV incidence of 16.74% was observed. Next-generation sequencing also revealed the whole-genome sequence of the CYVCV-Y2 isolate and the infection of sour orange by the cucumber mosaic virus, grapevine rupestris vein feathering virus, grapevine fleck virus, and wheat dwarf virus. Knowledge of the CYVCV genome is crucial for developing methods to better manage yellow vein clearing disease of citrus in the province of Adana.
