Abstract

The concept of “instantaneous” polarization of the horizontal electric component of the Pc1 pulsation field as measured by the coastal and base (offset from the coast) telluric lines is used to separate the contributions of geomagnetic pulsations and extraneous noise, the excitation of which is a possible change in the concentration of sea aerosols in the surface layer of the atmosphere and changes in the wind conditions. The construction and practical use of “vectors” of instantaneous polarization is carried out in accordance with the basic principles of complexity theory and ensures the separation of the contributions of noise of different origin and assessment of the noise intensity. It is shown that the repetition rates of the selected pulse bursts of geomagnetic pulsations Pc1 are consistent with the periods of geomagnetic oscillations in the Pc4—Pc5 range.
