Effect of Heat Treatment on Semiconducting Properties of Polyoxadiazole Carbon Fibers

The effect of heat-treatment regimes of poly(p-phenylene-1,3,4-oxadiazole) polymer threads on the electrical conductivity of carbon fibers based on them is studied. The electrical conductivity is shown to depend on the production direction and heating regimes of the starting polymer threads. The voltammetric characteristics demonstrate the nonlinear electrical conductivity of the studied carbon fibers. A tunneling breakdown is observed with a potential of 11.9 mV on the carbon-fiber samples.
