We consider traveling wave solutions of a perturbed generalized KdV equation. By analyzing the ratio of Abelian integrals, it is proved that the limit wave speed $c_0\left(h\right)$ is decreasing. The upper and lower bounds of the limit wave speed are given. Our results answer partially an open question proposed by Yan et al. (2014).
