ABSTRACT

This study elucidated the effects of biogas technology adoption on income and livelihood in rural areas of Bangladesh using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) techniques and the Logit Regression Model respectively. A total of 80 biogas adopters and non-adopters were selected from Bangladesh using Simple Random Sampling technique. The results exposed that the income of biogas adopters is noticeably higher than that of biogas non-adopters. The availability of customers and time saving for other activities exerted positively significant influences on the biogas adopters’ livelihood. The rise in number of cattle and fuel costs are positively related to biogas plant adoption.

本研究分别使用倾向评分匹配 (PSM) 技术和 Logit 回归模型阐明了采用沼气技术对孟加拉国农村地区收入和生计的影响。使用简单随机抽样技术从孟加拉国共选择了 80 名沼气采用者和非采用者。结果表明，采用沼气的人的收入明显高于不采用沼气的人。客户的可用性和其他活动的时间节省对沼气采用者的生计产生了积极的重大影响。牛的数量和燃料成本的增加与沼气厂的采用呈正相关。
