The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) serves as a knee stabilizer in the anteroposterior plane, avoiding excessive posterior translation of the tibia. The PCL is commonly injured after motorcycle‐related traffic accidents due to the impact of backward force on the anterior tibia. The PCL originates from the posterior intercondylar area on the tibial plateau, inserts on the lateral surface of the medial condyle, and extends up to the roof of the intercondylar fossa. Ultrasound (US) scanning of the PCL has been elaborated in many protocols.
