Helical Magnetic Order and the Anomalous Electrical Conductivity PdCrO 2

The effect of a helical magnetic field on the dispersion relation of electrons in one- and two-dimensional systems has been studied. The helical magnetic order in CrO2 dielectric spacers in PdCrO2 creates an unusual spin structure on the Fermi surface in hexagonal palladium layers ensuring electron transport. In this case, umklapp electron–phonon scattering is strongly suppressed, which results in an anomalously high conductivity at low temperatures observed experimentally.
