The Use of Impregnating Compositions upon Service of the Spring Elements of Road Vehicles Fabricated from Nonmetallic Materials

Abstract

Features of operation of nonmetallic elements of the air springs of road vehicles are analyzed. The reasons for generation of the most widespread defects are analyzed. Structural changes in rubber elements after 10-day exposure at a temperature of –30°C are recorded. It is shown that employment of anaerobic impregnating compositions during fabrication and service of road vehicles is a promising approach to the increase in the resistance to low temperatures and, accordingly, an increase in the service life of the elements of air spring of these machines.
