Abstract
The efficiency of airplane turbines must be improved by optimizing the characteristics of the labyrinth seals and improving their operational efficiency. The response surface is plotted as a function of the geometric parameters for the labyrinth seals of gas-turbine engines. On that basis, an optimized labyrinth seal is developed. The characteristics of the initial and optimized seals are compared.
