The second issue of 2021 again features essays from around the world, with an impressive variety of methodologies, approaches, and temporal foci, reflecting the continued vitality of the fields of environmental and forest history. Mexican hydraulic infrastructure is developed and migrant flows shift; Vietnamese forests are exploited and coal enters the global market; Himalayan hawks find their prey and social elites cement their influence. In each case, the tight connection between the human and natural worlds is demonstrated, although in different ways.
