Implementation of a real-life educational method for logistics in Vietnam: between Episteme and Techne

ABSTRACT

Although it is widely acknowledged that real-life dealing with logistics operations is more complex than theoretical knowledge, traditional educational settings offer very few ways for learners to experience this aspect. This article deals with the development of a real-life environment for teaching logistics management in emerging countries and more specifically in Vietnam. This particular pedagogical initiative results from specific educational research that has been materialised through the creation of a learning centre that brought theory and practices closer. This article shows how the use of a real-life-based teaching method can contribute to an authentic learning through the presentation and the discussion of a case study in Vietnam: Logistic E-Training Center (LETC – http://letc.vimaru.edu.vn/). The novelty of this educational research in logistics is to define and exemplify a framework for the development of an appropriate educational setting offering a real-life environment in which learners can experience their knowledge and formulate all the tacit skills required to handle logistics operations. Such education context provides the opportunity for students to exercise realistic work practices by developing cognitive skills required in real/authentic working situations. Learners who have attended LETC programmes that include real-life activities are better prepared to transfer the skills they have learnt in an educational setting to a work.

尽管人们普遍承认现实生活中处理物流操作比理论知识更复杂,但传统的教育环境为学习者提供了很少的方式来体验这方面的知识。本文讨论了在新兴国家尤其是越南为物流管理教学提供真实环境的发展。这一特殊的教学计划源于具体的教育研究,该研究通过创建一个使理论和实践更接近的学习中心得以实现。本文通过演示和讨论越南的一个案例研究,展示了如何使用基于现实生活的教学方法来促进真实的学习:物流电子培训中心 (LETC – http://letc.vimaru. edu.vn/)。这项物流教育研究的新颖之处在于定义和举例说明了一个框架,用于开发适当的教育环境,提供一个真实的环境,让学习者可以体验他们的知识并制定处理物流操作所需的所有隐性技能。这种教育环境为学生提供了通过发展真实/真实工作环境中所需的认知技能来练习现实工作实践的机会。参加过包含现实生活活动的 LETC 计划的学习者可以更好地准备将他们在教育环境中学到的技能转移到工作中。
