The Founding Editor of Applied Cognitive Psychology (ACP), Professor Graham Davies, and Wiley invite individuals to apply for the position of Editor for ACP to join Prof. Davies and Dr Jennifer Cromley in leading the editorial team of ACP from July 2021.

Applied Cognitive Psychology is an international, peer‐reviewed journal owned and published by Wiley. It publishes six issues a year, including some special issues, and features international papers dealing with psychological analyses of memory, learning, thinking, problem solving, language, and consciousness as they occur in real‐world contexts. ACP focuses on studies of human performance and basic cognitive skills in everyday environments. Particular emphases include studies of autobiographical memory, lifespan memory development, detecting truth and deception, eyewitness memory and memory reliability, as well as cognitive perspectives on consumer behaviour, health and education. The journal's readership included researchers, teachers and practitioners in psychology, education, and training, with interests in learning, memory, and cognitive performance.

The new Editor will work in close collaboration with the editorial team consisting of fellow Editor Dr Jennifer Cromley from University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign and Founding Editor Prof. Graham Davies from University of Leicester, as well as a team of Associate Editors and the Publisher. The appointment is for an initial 18‐month term until the end of 2022 and comes with an annual honorarium.

The successful candidate for the position of Editor will be recognized internationally for their achievements in this area and have a good track record of their own publications and presentations at conferences. They will also have an extensive international network of contacts whom they would be willing to invite to contribute to ACP.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge:

• Broad knowledge of research and practice in the field of applied cognition.

• Sound judgment about the conduct of diverse forms of research.

• Knowledge of the current and forthcoming changes in the publishing landscape.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
