Elastic solution for a rotating bi-material ring with thermal mismatch

We propose an analytic solution for a rotating bi-material ring with a uniform temperature lower than the manufacturing temperature. In particular, one of the materials takes a rectangular shape in the r-z plane in cylindrical coordinates. The solution takes advantage of the superposition principle, with the particular solution accounting for the rotation and the general solution to the homogeneous problem. The latter is then written through a stress function with carefully chosen terms: terms from the solution of a composite solid ring from [Arnold, S.M., Saleeb, A.F., Al-Zoubi, N., 2002. Composites Part B 33, 433–459] and a term accounting for the annular geometry. The solution is adequately verified.
