Abstract—
We have studied the acoustic and optical properties of a LiBi(MoO4)2 crystal prepared by low thermal gradient Czochralski growth and determined the complete elastic modulus matrix of the crystal. Ultrasound attenuation for a wave traveling along the Z axis of the crystal has been assessed in the frequency range 40–170 MHz. We have measured refractive indices of the crystal in the visible and near-IR spectral regions and obtained their spectral dependences using the Sellmeier formula. The conclusion is made that such crystals are potentially attractive for producing acousto-optic modulators.
