Nowadays, information technologies are increasingly accessible to the majority of the population. This has made it possible to promote the use of the Internet of Things (IoT). One of the industries with the greatest challenges is the health sector, although technology has arrived and has been implemented in the health sector, in developing countries, there is a very low budget that makes the adoption of new technologies impossible. Therefore, older adults will be a vulnerable sector throughout the world and especially in poor countries. For this reason, in this article, we present the design, development, and implementation of a low-cost digital vital signs (VS) capturer. This device allows reducing the time in taking VS, but above all the device allows eliminating the task of handwriting information in a logbook since the information is automatically sent to a central computer, which will reduce human errors.
