Esmeralda Arrizón-Palomera (earrizon@bu.edu) is an undocumented scholar and a DACA beneficiary. She earned her PhD in English language and literature from Cornell University and is currently a postdoctoral associate at Boston University’s Kilachand Honors College. Her research focuses on undocumentedness, how it is understood and represented in US Latinx and African American Literature. Her current project focuses on the figure of the undocumented immigrant and studies the work this figure, its presence and absence, has enabled in the development of feminist history, theory, and literature from the mid-nineteenth century to the late twentieth century.
