Method for Reconstructing Functionally Defined Surfaces by Stereo Images of Real Objects

Abstract

A method for reconstructing functionally defined surfaces by stereo images of real objects is proposed. A known approach to the computation of 3D models by silhouette images in the object space is used for preprocessing. The depth map is calculated using a well-known algorithm based on area with correlation of image intensity levels. In order to reconstruct a smooth surface with a compact description, a new method of transformation into a functionally defined model is proposed.
