A stationary afterglow apparatus with Cavity Ring-Down spectrometer was combined with electron number density measurement system to study the third-body assisted recombination of ions with electrons in neon gas at the temperature of 110 K. The measured ternary recombination rate coefficient is close to that obtained in helium buffered plasma. The applicability of the present experimental setup for Einstein coefficients determination is also discussed.
