ABSTRACT

A shrink in Indonesian economic growth forced the authorities to ease their large-scale social distancing protocol during the coronavirus disease pandemic and introduced the ‘new normal’ protocol starting May 2020. This period is perceived to be not effective in reducing the spread of the virus and left many vulnerable youths exposed to various risk factors that negatively affected their well-being. This study aimed to understand the experience of youth living in the era of ‘new normal’ in Indonesia. Fifteen youth participated in interviews and photovoice session. Thematic resulted in three main themes, which is return to routines, changes in social life, and youth as agents of change. Policymakers are suggested to consider social changes in these youth and empower them to become a beacon in their community during this dark period of a pandemic.

印尼经济增长放缓迫使当局在冠状病毒病大流行期间放宽其大规模的社会疏离协议，并从 2020 年 5 月开始引入“新常态”协议。这一时期被认为在减少病毒传播方面无效并使许多弱势青年暴露于对他们的福祉产生负面影响的各种风险因素中。本研究旨在了解印度尼西亚青年生活在“新常态”时代的经历。十五名青年参加了采访和摄影会议。主题产生了三个主要主题，即回归常规、社会生活的变化以及青年作为变革的推动者。建议政策制定者考虑这些年轻人的社会变化，并让他们在这个大流行的黑暗时期成为社区中的灯塔。
